Cole Porter’s joyful musical comedy is set on an ocean liner bound across the Atlantic, where a stowaway is pursuing the love of his life, an heiress engaged to a peer. He’s helped in quest to win her by a nightclub singer and a conman – get ready for antics aplenty in this multi-award winning show.
Come and set sail into the glamorous 1930s, and a show full of comedy and romance, show-stopping dance routines and a score including legendary songs: I Get A Kick Out of You, You’re the Top, Blow, Gabriel, Blow and of course, Anything Goes.

Our Anything Goes company have had a de-lovely treat, when our patron and opera star Clare Presland delivered a masterclass in musical theatre.
Clare came along to a company rehearsal to share her experience and expertise, as well as encouragement, with the cast of the ever-popular musical, set in the 1930s on a Transatlantic liner, with a score filled with familiar songs.
Artistic Director Sian Couture, who is directing and choreographing the show, alongside Musical Director Nicola Scales, said: “What an absolute privilege to have Clare with us giving us so much support as we get ready to present Anything Goes at the Theatre Royal in November. As well as offering guidance and advice to our singers, she enthused the whole cast with ideas and renewed excitement to share the show with our audience. We are so grateful that she once again found the time, in such a busy international schedule, to deliver a masterclass for us. Thankyou Clare!”
Clare now sings in the great opera houses of the world, but always says she is a “proud Suffolk gal”, and does so much to support the arts locally. She has been Irving’s patron since 2023.
